Annual Report 2024
2024 was a year of deep reflection, learning, and growth. At Ipas Latin America and the Caribbean (Ipas LAC), we paused and reflected on the ground we have covered while staying rooted in the present and focused on the horizon: the ongoing fight for sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) in Latin America and the Caribbean.
It was a year of tending to our garden—learning from past experiences, building new partnerships, and nurturing seeds of growth into powerful actions and transformative outcomes. This living document is our way of sharing all that is blooming with you.
At Ipas LAC, we developed a theory of change (ToC) to guide us in planning our garden and sowing seeds of learning and growth. This comprehensive framework guides every decision and action, ensuring alignment with our own goals and maximizing our regional impact. The work of the Ipas network began in 1973 and since then we have been able to reach more than 100 countries. Although Ipas LAC is a recently created network, we are backed by many years of work in the Latin America region. We tell you about some of our most relevant changes and the impact of our work.
2023 was a very special year, as we celebrated our 50th anniversary as a global organization and began a new institutional stage with the renewal of our governing body.
2022 was a year of change Ipas Central America and Mexico underwent a fundamental transformation that marked a milestone in our history; we became Ipas Latin America and the Caribbean (Ipas LAC).
As Ipas Central America and Mexico, we work to ensure that women and all pregnant women have the correct information, support and safety to access abortion.
In 2019 we worked on the road to regional integration, Ipas Central America and Ipas Mexico merged to form Ipas Central America and Mexico (Ipas CAM).
reproductive justice
+170 allies for reproductive justice gathered in the Webinar "We flourish in freedom and enjoyment" to discuss the situation of Sexual and Reproductive Rights in the sub-regions of Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, the Southern Cone and the South Andean Region. Ipas LAC shares the most important achievements gathered in our Annual Report 2024 so that women and other people with the capacity to bear children can make decisions about their reproduction in freedom and enjoyment.
We end this intimate space with a renewal of our conviction summarized in a Manifesto created collectively from all the desires and the illusion of what we wish to harvest for this coming year, being allies for reproductive justice.
